April Taskforce Member Convening: Insights from the US TIP Ambassador Cindy Dyer

Human trafficking remains one of the most pressing issues of our time, with survivors facing immense challenges in seeking justice against their perpetrators. Shockingly, less than 1% of survivors ever witness their traffickers being convicted—a statistic that underscores the urgency of effective prosecution efforts (SOURCE: UNODC).

Yesterday, our Quarterly Convening welcomed US TIP Ambassador Cindy Dyer. Drawing on her extensive experience as a former prosecutor, Ambassador Dyer shared invaluable insights into the crucial role of prosecution in combatting this heinous crime. Read her quote here on X.

The discussion was both enlightening and empowering, providing practical strategies for our members as they continue their tireless efforts across the globe.

“Partnerships are the essential foundation for sustainable and successful anti-trafficking work,” Ambassador Dyer emphasized in the 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report, which prioritized collaborative initiatives as essential to combating trafficking effectively.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to MasterWord for their support in facilitating multilingual participation and sponsoring this event.

As we reflect on Ambassador Dyer’s insights and the imperative of collaboration, let us recommit ourselves to working hand in hand, across borders and disciplines, to protect the most vulnerable among us. Together, we can move the needle on human trafficking and build a safer, more just world for all.
