Dr. Ekaterina Kostioukhina

Medical Doctor, M.D.
New Zealand

Dr. Ekaterina Kostioukhina is a medical doctor in the response to COVID-19 disaster relief, a Harvard Scholar, and a survivor of human trafficking. She advocates for others who have no voice.

After being a victim for 21 years, trapped in a system where Child Marriage favors the abuser, she broke the chains of oppression through education. Despite the obstacles of labor exploitation and being removed from school since early childhood, she found refuge and salvation in the wisdom of books at the local library. Obtaining her GED, her perseverance and hard work led to a medical degree and then Harvard. “From GED to MD and even Harvard.”

Today, she uses her education and leadership to make society better, advocating to help the future generations through education, empowerment of victims and working with legislators and leaders internationally to address the underlying causes of this humanitarian crisis.
