Mariia Ionova is a Ukrainian MP as well as the Co-Founder of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress.  She is currently serving as the co-chair of the Equal Opportunities Inter-Faction Union.  She has been called one of the “Women Shaping Ukraine’s Future.”  

She began her political career as assistant to a Member of Parliament of Ukraine and served in the Presidential Administration as adviser to the President of Ukraine.  She was a member of the committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.  She has served as the acting chair of the Committee for European Integration, a substitute member of Ukrainian delegation in PACE, and a member of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee.  

Throughout her career, Mariia has focused on legislation to strengthen the rights of internally displaced persons, particularly women and children including improvements to the legislative framework for women in combat.  She has also concentrated on the European integration of Ukraine, international cooperation, and gender equality. 

Mariia studied management at the Hetman National University of Economics and earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine.
